We came across a Camcorder in the Media material room, charged it and put in the cassette tape of which we were ready to shoot. We began filming on the camcorder, but also on the DSLR incase the camcorder was unable to work. Once we shot we attempted to upload the footage from the cassette tape onto the Macs but unfortunately was unable to due to the computers not being compatible with the format. In the future for the camcorder effect we will use the VHS effect on our phones, or edit the footage in Final Cut Pro.
In the 'Techno' typography genre to reflect the 80's theme and the genre of SPCTRM's music.
I will research more fonts and experiment with colour and shape with the different fonts.
Kayne West Turn Up The Lights music video uses typography in a visual interesting way; using powerful colours, fonts and movements to emphasis the lyrics and music genre. In the same way I want to use this technique, for out chorus 'I want your love' with different fonts, size and colour, exaggerating the artists obsession with the girl.
On Monday, Our second shoot consisted of a DSLR 1200D, dark space and a studio lamp for low-key contrast on high-key lighting to emphasis the dramatic effect of the girl.
We shot some footage on the VHS effect app on our phones, including sun set, vinyl and colourful lights, all iconography that we desire to create an 80's and urban feel.
Camcorders can produce a very vivid and glitchy effect which I would really like to use in our music video to connote a 80's feel to our concept. We have downloaded the app VHS which actually has this effect when filming, which is also cost affective.
On Monday we filmed some footage of myself in a suburban area, however the physical SD has been damaged as the plastic case has fallen up, and has actually corrupted the files. Therefore we will have to re-shoot. However the day needs to be sunny to get the full effect that we had created originally
which was quite dream-like.
